ABOUT US

WE ARE RESA RWANDA

ReSa is a Community Benefit Company (CBC) registered in Rwanda. We operate as a social enterprise, combining business approaches with a strong social mission to empower women, improve food security, and support sustainable rural livelihoods.

Our work focuses on strengthening local capacities, promoting income-generating activities, and building resilient communities aligned with Rwanda’s national development priorities.

Operational since March 2023, ReSa-Rwanda works toward socio-economic development through strengthening the capacities of local communities, implementing training programs, and providing technical and financial support aimed at assisting women in their journey toward independent entrepreneurship and empowerment.

OUR VISION

"To create a dynamic and balanced Rwanda, where every member of the community—particularly rural women—is able to fully realize their potential.  We aspire to see prosperous and self-reliant communities, where equality, education, and regenerative development are the pillars of growth."

RESA RWANDA

OUR WORK

We believe we can make a difference and positively impact lives.

We design and implement community-led solutions that address key development challenges in rural Rwanda, including: Women’s economic empowerment, Food security and nutrition, Rural employment and entrepreneurship, Community resilience and inclusive growth, Our programs are practical, locally driven, and designed for long-term impact.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC IMPACT ON HOUSEHOLDS

Household income among members of the Humurariziyigihe has increased through diversified activities such as livestock rearing (goats and pigs), tailoring, and handicrafts, enabling each member to own productive assets and strengthening household. This has led to improved food security, regular access to health services, and better education outcomes, including payment of school fees.

WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT AND SOCIAL INCLUSION

Women beneficiaries gained economic autonomy, confidence, and decision-making power within their households. Formerly isolated members, including elderly women, became active participants in community life. Leadership capacities were strengthened, with women serving as president, vice-president, treasurer, and secretary, contributing to stronger group cohesion and inclusive governance.

FINANCIAL INCLUSION AND RESILIENCE -SAVING GROUPS

The establishment of a Village Savings and Loans (VSL) system enabled members to make regular weekly contributions, strengthening a culture of saving and mutual support. Financial literacy improved through practical experience in saving, borrowing, loan management, and repayment with interest, increasing households’ ability to cope with shocks such as illness, and food shortage.

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AND SUSTAINABLE HOUSEHOLDS

Members of the Humurariziyigihe gained practical skills in improved livestock management, tailoring, handicrafts, and small business management through hands-on training and exchange visits that strengthened learning by practice. As a result, members are confident to expand, manage, and sustain their income-generating activities independently, showing lasting impact.
